Virtual Reality Presentation
As of today i have talked about different applications and impacts that virtual reality has on us in the past and today. Virtual reality can be used to treat different social phobias and also used for training simulations in a disaster environment, resource environment, or everyday living environments. the simulation is a efficient to show and teach people how to respond to different disasters or trying to build a building etc. ADMS is a simulation system team which provide training and programs for these features. I also talked about secondlife where people can actually get together in a virtual room as in a conference or group meeting and talk about different work productivity and other evaluations. Virtual Reality will become even more efficient in the future since technology is getting more and more advance each day.

after hearing your presentation i never knew vr could do so much for people. it can help treat phobias, prepare you for disasters, train soldiers, be used for entertainment, etc... the list just goes on and on. I can think back to the old days of virtual reality when they had a video game console called "virtual boy". (the game system was a binocular stand you would look into and the graphics were gameboy-like but everything is in red) -it was by far the most pathetic attempt for a video game console. It was so bad that it was discontinued right away. the reason it failed, was obviously the graphics. Nowadays we have 1080p graphics with xbox360 and ps3. sometimes i play my ps3, with games like call of duty 4 and uncharted and just think to myself damm, these games are so life-like. even more, games like crysis on the PC looks as life-like as can be. sky's the limit on how they can use these modern day graphic engines and implement it into the present day virtual reality technology.
Hello Johnny,
I thought your presentation on virtual reality was really interesting. I never realized its importance in treating phobias. Additionally, I never knew that it may be used for disaster preparation. Virtual reality appears to be an important way to test and prepare for situations. For example, recently I saw a commercial for Ford vehicles where they had an employee simulate a vehicle. They would change the height of the individual within the simulation to see how people of different heights experience the vehicle. It was interesting to learn about the Advanced Disaster Management Simulator. The simulation appears to be an interesting way for emergency responders to develop their skills and see different ways of handling a situation and its results.

It is a good presentation. Even though I can not own the product, it’s good to look the product. It is a good idea to create a virtual reality for every kind of environment. try to put the link where you get the information.
Johnny,
I thought your presentation was interesting. What appealed to me the most was learning that VR is used to treat phobias. I think that it's cool to integrate technology into the medical sciences.

i agree with melissa. i enjoyed learning about how phobias can be treated through VR. It's hard to imagine how simple computer graphics can help someone overcome some big obstacles in one's life. I hope that they continue to develop VR because I think it is the next big thing in the tech industry.
The presentation was well done and I liked the way you talked abbout specific aspects of virtual reality and not a general statement. Virtual reality is definitely expanding into something that we could only see in the movies...

The presentation was very informative, I do believe that as time progresses VR will become much more complex, and will allow us to mimic reality in much greater depth than it does at present. It is quite interesting how VR has evolved, and is being used today in many fields, besides the entertainment industry, and as television evolved VR might become the new way to experience places, products, and alike. I do believe that it is only bound by the level of current technology….and our imaginations.

Hey Jonny,
your presentation was great!
I didn't know VR was capable of so much more.
reminds me of playing at an arcade place all night long when I was younger :)
I could understand why it would be useful to treat people with phobia's.
I thought your presentation was interesting. Virtual reality has always been an interesting topic although I never pay much attention to it. So it was great learning/catching back up about where virtual reality has impacted like fiction books, tv, games, etc. Also it was great to learn how companies like Adias, Sears, and Toyota are using programs like Second Life for virtual reality to reach to its customers. Also how virtual reality can help for disaster preparation and be used to treat people with phobias which I never heard until your presentation.
Johnny,
Great presentation on VR. I am a huge fan of flight simulation and racing sims as well. I had no idea about the immense choice for simulation hardware and software. Clearly, you did lots of research and your presentation shows that. I hope to get me one of those full size aircraft cockpits one day!! Great job!!
